How do I
download, print,
and use a collage sheet ?
Download the
file(s) to your computer by clicking the link in the email
you received from us. Save the new file(s) somewhere
on your computer that is easy to remember. If you
purchase a lot of digital products, then it would be a
good idea to have a folder that you download all your
collage sheets or digital stamps to so they are easy to
locate.
Open
the file(s) you just downloaded with Adobe Acrobat Reader
and then hit the print button. You can change the
sizes of the images by changing your printer settings.
Many printers allow you to scale the image by different
percentages. Please refer to your printers owners
manual for further instructions.
www.PennywiseArts.com sells printed copies of all our
collage sheets. They use a professional laser
printer on high quality paper.
Please
note that when you print your collage sheet it will only
look as good as the printer used to print it. To get
a fine print closest to the original collage sheet image
you see on screen, we recommend that you have your sheets
professionally printed at a local copy shop or office
supply store. Prices usually range from 30 cents to
80 cents per sheet. It is well worth the price to
have them print your sheets for you. The color and
clarity of professional laser printers is much better than
most home printers.

Where does Swing Shift Designs get their collage sheet images and
digital images?
All collage sheets, digital stamps, and
digital images are designed by Swing Shift Designs in
accordance with United States Copyright Law.
We purchase our images from many different sources in the
US and abroad. Some have been purchased in bulk,
some from flea markets, some scanned from vintage books, and some from private collections.
How does Swing Shift Designs create their collage sheets?
We scan and resize each picture at 300dpi. We touch
up the image as necessary, insuring that the end product
meets our high standards. Then we compile the images
into an 8 1/2" x 11" document that an be reprinted any
number of times by our customers.
Where does Swing Shift Designs get their digital stamp images?
Because we love vintage, most of our stamps are scanned
from vintage books that are in the public domain and then
touched up to be suitable for "stamping". Others are created by us, using digital
imaging software such as Photo Impact, Photo Shop
Elements, and/or Photo Shop. In some cases,
we've purchased the rights to sell the images as our own.
How does Swing Shift Designs create original digital stamps?
We create a lot of our stamps with our PC, a pencil, a
marking pen, and
paper. We first draw the image that we want to use
for a stamp with a pencil and paper. Then we trace
over the final drawing with a marker. We use an
eraser to remove any pencil marks and then scan the image
and open it with digital imaging software. We
further clean up and touch up the drawing digitally and
then we save the completed image in both jpg and png
formats. We also use a digital drawing tablet for
some images.
